Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting with overall daily operations of the main site Clubhouse with the primary concern for programs, supervision & training of staff, and membership administration consistent with Boys & Girls Club and policies and procedures. All employees working or visiting a facility where minors are present are considered to have a supervisory or disciplinary relationship over the minors.
Requirements
- Minimum of four years’ experience in planning and implementing youth programs.
- Physical ability to lead and participate in active sports and games with children, monitor behavior requiring physical separation.
- Ability to plan, implement, and organize quality programs for youth while providing a safe environment.
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
- First Aid & CPR certification.
Example Duties
- Ensure programs, services, and activities that prepare youth for success, always promoting safety of members and quality in programs.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members and serves as an assistant to the Program Director.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by planning, organizing and implementing a range of program services and activities for members.
- Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and make sure supplies are in good order.
- Supervises all assigned counselors, assistants, and volunteers.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and manage assigned staff; providing ongoing feedback; and identify and support development opportunities.
- Maintains assigned work schedule and submits any time off requests at least two weeks prior.
- Submits any required reports or forms to Program Director.
- Initiating new programs with the approval of the Program Director.
- Staff performance should reflect a positive attitude towards their profession.
- Ensures program staffs are actively involved with all activities on and off site.
- Assists in planning and participates in all special events.
- Supervise members and follow after school discipline procedures and policies.
- Attends all mandatory staff trainings, meetings, conferences, etc.
- Communicates any relevant concerns / issues to Program Director
- Contains self in a manner consistent with Boys & Girls Club standards.
- Accomplishes any relevant duty as assigned.
